Angela Gossow was born to Christian parents in Cologne, Germany, and was the youngest of three siblings. She was 17 when her parents divorc e. After their company collapsed her family was faced with more problems with finances. Her financial troubles were made worse by her anorexia and bipolar disorder. Gossow, who was the lead singer of ARCH ENIY up until recently, revealed that she'd decided to retire. I started out in the year 1991. My enthusiasm for living in the open road had diminished. Instead of pretending, I decided to quit. The original frontman of the group, Johan Liiva was replaced in 2000 by German singer Angela Gossow.
