Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 at Atlanta with Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of the Robertses' fourth generation to reside in the Atlanta region, beginning with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Early on, her father was interested in theatre. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force, and was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a play that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple got married and their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter was hired as a technician by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of the television show Bum Bum His Buddies, which aired in Decatur Georgia. In 1964 Walter as well as Betty Lou began production on a local Saturday morning children's television program known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed themselves. They also founded an organization that lasted for six years called the Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. They had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) at the time.
