The singer released her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. The track was highly praised by both critics and listeners. It was ranked in the top 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada as well as the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was among five tracks which reached the top charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she did in conjunction with Rap Up, this particular song had a lot of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her story about learning to accept and love yourself. Cara integrates messages about compassion and self-love throughout her songs. The inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles to overcome mental health problems and insomnia. According to an Reuters Interview, her album is described as semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. She describes her growth through therapy, and encourages anyone else to seek out assistance when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10 and this ignited her love for music. After three years, at 13 she started singing songs she loved via YouTube. It was an excellent method to demonstrate to the world that she possessed both ability and determination. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather ended up getting her attention by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to compose and record her tracks.
